The Capy Cleveland identity design project celebrates the joy, community, and admiration of capybaras among fans in Cleveland, Ohio. This brand identity captures the welcoming and enthusiastic atmosphere of the group, making it both memorable and engaging for members and newcomers alike.
The primary logo creatively incorporates the words “Capy Cleveland” in a playful, welcoming design that represents the brand’s spirit of camaraderie and shared interests. A secondary flag-inspired logo featuring bold typography of “Capy” and “Cleveland” provides flexibility across various branding needs, ensuring consistency across different formats. The color palette, inspired by natural elements associated with capybaras, includes Capy Tan, Wilderness Blue, and Midnight Blue, evoking a warm, earthy, and water-friendly vibe while maintaining a bright, lively feel.
Typography choices reinforce the brand’s character. Synthemesc Regular brings a modern and approachable look to “Capy Cleveland,” contrasting well with the bold and impactful Poster Gothic Round ATF, which amplifies the brand’s energy and visibility. This combination reflects Capy Cleveland’s warm yet dynamic identity.
The identity system extends beyond logos to include team uniforms, business cards, letterheads, and other branded materials. Each element is designed to ensure a consistent and recognizable presence, whether at events, in communications, or online.

Initially, I planned to create a fan group called “Candies,” inspired by my then-boyfriend’s rock band, formerly named Candice. The idea was to celebrate his music and creative journey through a dedicated fan community. However, as I reflected on the project, I realized I wanted to create something that was more personally meaningful to me. Drawing on my love for capybaras—animals that symbolize harmony, cuteness, and community—I decided to pivot and create Capy Cleveland instead. This shift allowed me to channel my passion for these unique creatures into a fun, inclusive, and lighthearted group that resonates with a broader audience.
